Dr Aron Ping D’Souza is, among many things, chairman of the Australian chapter of the Nexus Youth Summit, a rapidly growing organisation that stemmed from the Clinton Global Initiative, which was set up in 2005 by former US president Bill Clinton to create solutions to the world’s most acute challenges.
”The Nexus Global Youth Summit began three years ago when a group of young people went to the Clinton Global Initiative in New York, and they found that most of the people there who call themselves philanthropists were much older and there was really nothing for young people …
”It’s really a meeting of a peer group, mainly focused on young people from wealthy communities and entrepreneurs who hope to form the backbone of the next generation of global philanthropy … Young people play an important role in solving long-term problems because we stand to live through them and either perish from inaction or profit from solutions.”
